Polymer can be considered high molecular weight substances formed by the Union of simple molecules called monomers by chemical bonds. They are classified as very large molecules because they are made up of repeating subunits. Due to its durable and long-lasting structure, this material is widely used in many areas, including irrigation pipe systems.

A drip irrigation system is a method of irrigation in which water is supplied directly to the root part of growing plants and is carried out in the form of small drops with the help of the main dispenser. With this method, significant water savings and maximum efficiency are achieved. In addition to saving water and fertilizer, the system reduces labor and energy consumption.

Drip irrigation pipes also provide other advantages, such as early harvesting, preventing soil erosion, reducing the likelihood of disease spread and weed growth. This system, which at first began to be widely used in greenhouse plantings, later began to be widely used for the cultivation of vegetables, fruits and grapes in open fields.

The transition from traditional methods of irrigation to new drip irrigation pipes brings a number of advantages:

  • Provides a significant increase in quality and productivity (20-90%)
  • The crop ripens 2-3 weeks earlier
  • Provides good soil aeration
  • Since it is impossible to moisten the entire area, it minimizes the development of diseases and weeds
  • Prevents erosion and soil loss
  • Can be applied easily in rough places
  • Provides less compaction (hardening) of the soil
